First Trimester

I have not been posting for a few reasons ( you don't have to read this post long and boring about me being sick)
1. School was getting CRAZY
2. My head was in the toilet for the last 2 months

My first trimester of pregnancy is over, and hopefully it brings me some relief from my all day sickness. Now let me start from the beginning.....

Starting in October during my student teaching I was exhausted and moody every day.( Suli especially noticed that) I just though it was those stinkin seventh graders that were wearing me out. Later that month I just had a feeling to get a pregnancy test....Suli freaked out when he saw it in the cart and told me that those things lie and he would not believe anything it said. I just rolled my eyes and kept going. I was too scared to take the test so I waited for a few days and then I did. And within like thirty seconds the stick confirmed PREGNANT! I yelled  for Suli to come see and he just said whatever I don't believe it. I called the Dr. office and had an appointment the next week Nov. 8th

The next week I sat at the Dr. office forever! they forgot about me and walk ins were coming in and getting out and I still had not been called in. So I walked up to that dang lady there and was like HELLO I AM STILL HERE!! then I got right in did my duty in a cup and it was officially official again PREGNANT. The nurse figured I was about 7 weeks and then called another Dr. to take care of the rest of my pregnancy at Castle Hospital...about an hour away. I had another appointment a week later.

Suli finally believed me after much convincing and went with me to my next Dr. appointment. As we were waiting I saw all these hugely pregnant women and I got a little freaked. Then they called me in and asked me a billion questions. Then they asked if they wanted Suli to come in for the ultra sound and I was oh yeah thats great. So they went and got him and then the Dr. told me to lay down and we got to see our baby for the first time! it was just a little jelly bean but still awesome! Next appointment two weeks later.

After that first appointment is when I started getting sick. Not just morning sickness ALL day sickness. I had to miss school, I couldn't keep anything down, I thought I was going to die! We went to my next appointment and I had lost 10 lbs. The Dr. was freaking out and I had to take all these extra tests just to make sure everything was ok and it was I just told her my mother cursed me. (love ya mom) We got to hear the heart beat this time and the baby actually looked like a baby! Suli thought it was the coolest thing ever. The Dr. gave me some pills to help with my sickness. they helped but I still threw up at least once a day.

Well since I had missed a lot of school my teacher I work with saw that I was so sick and had no energy he talked to my professors and asking them what I could do since I only had about 2 1/2 weeks left to teach. The professors called me in and told me I can try to finish (I knew I couldn't I almost passed out in school  everyday....sorry 7th graders you smell!) or I could extend in January I was thinking oh I only have about 2 weeks left so extending to January wont be bad! but soon as I agreed they told me I would have to extend a month! what the crap how is that fair? I was happy about the decision after because my family was  coming for my graduation and that meant I got to spend the whole time with them instead of just the afternoon. So in the end all that drama worked out for the best.

The week my family came was like a miracle, I wasn't as sick and I had more energy I was thinking wow maybe I am getting over this! soon as they left...I got worse. This week I have lived in the bathroom since Monday. Suli keeps shoving food down me because he said " I don't care about you getting food I care about the baby." cute yes annoying at the time very much so! But today is my first day of my second trimester so pray things get better! I have an appointment next Tuesday and we can't wait to see how much our baby has grown!

My dear friends Michelle, Mindy, Kalie, and Ariel threw me a partay! except they don't know the meaning of quiet and so I heard them about a block away so I knew something was up. I knock and the door and I hear screaming, oh how I love my friends! We built a fire in this little grill and made S'mores and planned out adventures we want to have this year. We laughed so hard we cried and thought we were going to get fined for being so loud. While Suli, Palauni (Michelle's) and Rodney (Ariels) were being anti social and watching tv and rolling their eyes every time we giggled. I loved my party and it totally made my day! Thanks  girls

Melancholy Feeling

I don't exactly know what it is but for the past month or so I am just not so happy. I can't figure out what it is. Do you want to know what I did during my week long break...???? NOTHING, thats right NOTHING I literally sat on my big booty (I know its big because one of my special ed students pointed to me and said BIG BOOTY!) and watched Law & Order marathon after marathon. I think I showered once and changed my clothes twice. ( don't judge me). And my poor husband was so nice and understanding and did not even complain once. (oh how I love him!). Then today began my solo teaching and you know what can you say BOMB! I don't even know why I plan because nothing ever goes according to plan, but I guess things worked themselves out and I gave a boring not so exciting lesson but I survived. On my ride home for lunch I figured out my melancholy feeling and what was bringing it on. I am graduating school and starting a new life, all I have known for the last 17/18 years of my life is school, and pretty soon that chapter of my life will be over and I am not quite sure how I feel about it , cuz I AM GOOD AT SCHOOL. Will I be good at my job? Will I be a good mom? What am I going to do after school? All these uncertainties have left me uncertain of myself. So here is to growing up and moving on!

Sunday Drives

When I was a kid pretty much every Sunday afternoon my family would head out on Sunday drives. The drives usually started with us going to ED's and getting a Sippie Hoda ( cream soda or grape for me!) and picking a direction to drive. Sometimes we had somewhere to go, like to look at the Pippylongstocking house, to look at the new houses being built on the golf course, or on the back road to Woodruff. But most of the time we just drove with no destination in mind. On these drives we learned to drive stick ,parallel park, and how to drive with our sisters screaming that they are going to die because you are a scary driver ( I think this talent will come in handy when I have screaming children in the back seat.)
One drive that sticks in my mind is the morning after my dad got his jeep we woke us up in the morning and told us to get in the jeep and we were going for a ride! Lucky us it had rained that night we went mud bogging before church but...we got stuck. But that was a Sunday ride I will never forget.
Today I wish I was at home going on a Sunday drive with my family

Sticky,Sweaty September

September is probably the hottest, stickiest, sweatiest, humidest (yes that is probably not a word) month of the year. This is Suli and his cousin playing at the beach, we went to cool down and to celebrate Suli doing AWESOME in his classes for first term.

Fall semester starts on Wednesday for Suli- I do believe he is taking 20 credits, but I may be wrong. I am still student teaching and will be until December 16 and I GRADUATE on December 17. I can't wait!

Happy late Birthday to my dear Riley- Actually I did facebook and text her yesterday so I was not actually late at all. I love ya sistah!

So Long Sweet Summer

I decided that today would be a good day for me to catch up on my blog, since my mom is always reminding my through facebook, phone calls, and text messages that she is sick and tired of seeing her face up on my blog. So here goes- its long filled with pictures and if you don't want to read through it I understand- so here is to you mother! enjoy.
JUNE
In June Suli and I got two super cute visitors! Mckayl and Michelle came to visit for the summer. We had so much fun going to:
  • Buddhist temples
  • eating shave ice, shrimp, acai bowls, and TEDS. (Mckayl and Michelle ate there pretty much everyday I do believe.)
  • we took trips to Waikiki and asked how much we cost
  • Went to PCC and night show almost every night
  • dances
  • movie marathons
  • a couple attempts at snorkeling (the water was murky every time),
  • collecting shells
  • tanning
  • surfing
  • Michelle's (my Michelle) wedding reception
  • Plus much much more
Mckayl and Michelle ready to playI guess we had an exhausting day-or we are just waking up-not sure
showing them the scenes
valley of the temples

Chinamans hat

not so thrilled they HAD to stay in Hawaii for the summer- they wanted to leave like two weeks into to trip.
Michelle and Palauni
Emma surprised us by flying from Florida to the reception!

JULY
on the 8th of July we left Hawaii and headed to California for Toa's (Suli's older sister) wedding. there were feasts, dances, and so many cousins, aunties, and uncles to get to know! It was great to meet everyone and party with them-and let me tell you Tongans know how to party- we got the cops called on us for being too loud. Oh and I got called the white girl the ENTIRE time I was there. ("shhhh there is a white girl asleep in your bed don't wake her up!!" Suli's little cousins telling their older brother I was passed out in his bed)
after the sealing I was freezing my but off *note the blue hoodie in the rest of the pics I had to buy it and wear it everyday because I was so cold.
Typical Suli Picture

Aunts, sisters, and cousins boogieing

Our SPRINT down the Golden Gate Bridge- It was raining and cold and us Hawaiians couldn't handle it. (Suli was quite disappointed that the Golden Gate Bridge was not Golden)

Later that night some of Suli's friends decided they wanted to show us the "real" San Fran. So about 11 pm we headed back to the city and did not return till the sun came up. I told ya Tongans know how to party!

We got to visit Snowflake for the 24 celebration-
We were busy playing softball, volleyball, rappelling, eating, swimming, riding horses and four wheelers( Suli squealed when we saw a chipmunk), painting, feeding missionaries, going to plays, rodeos and parades and catching up with loved ones- oh Snowflake you are so beautiful to me!

At the Rodeo: Grandma Me and my mom all matched aren't we so adorable. This was Friday night at the rodeo, we had to miss the one on Saturday because we were headed back home. We had so much fun I think Suli's favorite part is watching the bull riding, but my favorite part is watching for the weirdies with their super high do's and super tight pants!

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
August: Kasey started Student teaching Suli started First term. we barely survived. We never saw each other and went to bed at 9:30. Got Addicted to 24 so on the weekends we lay around watching it all day we are now on season 3.

September:
Friday September 3 was my last day of work (I worked at PCC for 2 1/2 years), these are the AWESOME people I work with-they threw me a party it was a lot of fun.
Can you believe that today has been 3 years since I met, and fell madly in love with my hubby?

So as you can see we have been busy these last 3 months. I am trying to be better at blogging but please remember student teaching=NO LIFE. Happy Labor Day!

A special thanks to The Format and Mae for helping me get through this post!

Its Birthday Time

Mom, Sandi, Sandra, or Frieda,
you're the greatest no one can beat ya!
You love Sonic Diet Coke with lime, and extra ice that is,
and you wont drink it if there is not enough fizz.

Hawaii is where you long to be,
to soak up the sun and swim in the sea.
Suli thinks your awesome cuz you steal chairs,
and you make Mckayl pull out all your gray hairs.

You taught me how to shimmy and shake,
and you are quite possibly the best jet skier at the lake.
Bosom buddies you have many,
Joan, Kathy, Cindy, Paula, and Penny!

Your kids are the smartest, cutest, most talented around,
and you have a dog that is as tall as she is round!
So sit back, kick up your feet and relax,
and enjoy your Birthday to the max!!!

Love ya mom!

True Greatness

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us when adversity takes the place of prosperity when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."
--Washington Irving
I love you mom! you are my best friend, and the greatest mom.

Sweet 16

It is my baby sisters Birthday today, she is 16! I cannot believe it. I just want to tell her how much I love her and miss her everyday. She was always my best little buddy, writing me notes and hanging out with me all the time. I am so proud of the young woman you have become, you are so beautiful, and smart, well when you want to be! I wish I could watch you play ball, but maybe in the next two years so keep it up for me because I want to be your #1 fan just like you were mine! Have a great day I love you Raegan!

I did what needed to be done, no regrets

So I have been absent for quite awhile, its not because I don't have time on my hands, because I do. I just have had to deal with a very bad situation at my work and have been trying to figure out how to best handle it. I did what needed to be done, and today was my final meeting. I have no regrets, because I did what was right, even though nothing is being done I can still be at peace knowing I did the right thing. Thanks mom and dad for always teaching me to stand up for myself and to speak out when something is wrong!

“Everybody in this life has their challenges and difficulties. That is part of our mortal test. The reason for some of these trials cannot be readily understood except on the basis of faith and hope because there is often a larger purpose which we do not always understand. Peace comes through hope.”

James E. Faust

I just found this quote and it made me feel better than I have felt these last three weeks.

All Clear

So I packed our clothes, canned food, bottled water, and a 72 hour kit my friend gave me before she left the island. Then I waited, woke Suli up and waited. Then there it was at 6 am the Warning siren going off all through the island. Packed the car and then waited till about 9 am and then we decided to head to higher ground. People went to the Temple, CAC, Stake Center, and The Hawaiian farm behind the school. That is where we decided to go. We set up our tent and then all our friends somehow all showed up to the same place! so we all got together and talked and napped and played ukulele under the shade of a tree.( oh and dug a latrine because there was no bathrooms!) As 11am drew nearer everyone got a little nervous was it going to happen? were we going to be ok? can we really eat tuna, corn and beans for the next however many days? Then nothing....so we waited some more and at 1:30 we got the all clear to head home. It is a weird sight to see everyone coming down from the mountains wearing their backpacks and heading to the empty town, but thank goodness we are ok!! Pray for those in Chile!

tsunami warning

About 3 am the elders quarm presidency came knocking at our doors. "There is a Tsunami headed our way, at 6am there will be a warning siren be prepared to evacuate." Hello can you say SCARY!!! I am up pacing my house thinking of things we might need. Suli is asleep in pain and I am not sure he can even evacuate if he needs to! Well pray for us today!

better late than never!

WOW I officially stink at blogging! Well its not that I actually stink at it, its just that I don't have anything new to blog about! Everyone asks whats new and nothing is...school, work, teach, repeat. BUT there are a few things that I have learned being married for 2 months!
1. sharing a double size bed SUCKS, especially when you share it with someone that kicks, steals covers, and head butts in their sleep (I have a fat lip to prove it!)
2. sick husbands are the worst!
3. my hair+bangs+Hawaii's humidity=not so cute ( every year I cut bangs and they are super cute for about 10 min then the humidity sets in and I have stringy sweaty bangs all day)
4. I thought I would have my house all decorated and cute....wrong still nothing up on the walls (thats why there are no pics of my house yet MOTHER)
5. cooking for a Hungry Tongan is a lot of work, especially when they cry because you make them eat green beans!
Well thats all I can think of right now and I have to study for midterms! Happy Tuesday/Wednesday
